Spied: Audi Is Already Testing Its Freshly Revealed Nuvolari Supercar at the Nurburgring
Spotted: Audi’s Nuvolari hybrid supercar prototype has appeared testing at the Nürburgring just days after its surprise reveal. Audi describes the Nuvolari as an aspirational model sharing fundamentals with Lamborghini’s Temerario, but delivering about 1,000 horsepower through a twin-turbo V8 and three axial-flux electric motors. Top speed is targeted at 217 mph, with a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds, and an electric-only mode is offered without a published range. A deployable rear wing with three modes—Closed, Low Downforce, and High Downforce—and a carbon-fiber body are part of the weight-conscious package. Audi plans only 499 units.
Underpinning the project is a shared Lamborghini platform, ensuring high-performance hardware while restricting production volume to preserve exclusivity. The camouflage on the prototype hints at a silhouette evolving from the R8 lineage while advancing aerodynamics and power. Weight management relies on carbon fiber construction to offset the hybrid system’s added mass. The ongoing Nürburgring testing signals Audi’s push toward a production-ready flagship that blends extreme performance with rarity.
