At about 11:42 p.m. on Saturday, the rider drove through barricades near 222 Atwells Ave, then lost control and crashed as pedestrians crowded the street. The operator was transported to Rhode Island Hospital with minor injuries, and police issued multiple traffic summonses. The driver was identified as Michael S. Carnevale, 19, of Johnston. Investigators note Carnevale allegedly had no motorcycle license or insurance and that his registration was expired; he also claimed an unknown party threw an object at him.
