After Saying See You Later to Louisiana Police, Man Attacked by Alligator

After fleeing Louisiana police, a driver charged with impaired driving was pursued through swamps where an alligator briefly joined the effort before his arrest. Victor Rivas, 40, was stopped on Interstate 310 for signs of impairment and fled on foot into nearby wetlands. He re-emerged on another highway and vanished again into swampy terrain until a drone team located him and deputies took him into custody. He was treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and booked on impairment and resisting-arrest charges. The sheriff’s office posted a photo of an alligator named 'Al E. Gator' in the incident; Louisiana’s alligator population now exceeds three million.
