SEND places set to double at Warwickshire primary school

The plan to double SEND places at Outwoods Primary School in Atherstone would raise capacity from eight to 16, backed by a £345,000 package to buy and relocate a new building. The upgrade would add toilets, including an accessible facility, and space for dedicated changing areas. The school currently runs the area's only resourced SEND provision, with the existing modular classroom more than 50 years old. Two temporary classrooms support a separate construction project, which the council intends to replace by purchasing the units. Work is set for the summer holidays to avoid disruption; Deputy Leader James Crocker is due to sign off at noon on 11 June.
