FSSAI bans these popular hing brands; here's why

India’s Food Safety and Standards Authority (FSSAI) has temporarily banned the sale of hing (asafoetida) from Everest Food Products and Laljee Godhoo. The regulator said laboratory tests found the products were substandard. FSSAI directed both companies to respond by explaining the violations and submitting action plans to meet the prescribed food-safety standards. The order also asks the firms to voluntarily recall any potentially non-compliant hing already in circulation.
