After Jeanty's criticism, Glenn's Jets defense falls flat in second half of loss to Raiders
The New York Jets blew a second-half lead and lost 38-33 to the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday in East Rutherford, New Jersey. After a week of criticism from Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty—who said some Jets “don’t really want to tackle”—Jets defenders acknowledged they didn’t execute well in the second half. Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick blamed “bad penalties” and mistakes, while linebacker Demario Davis said the unit was “up and down” and not consistent. Las Vegas, trailing by nine at halftime, scored touchdowns on its first three possessions of the second half, including a go-ahead 2-yard pass from Kirk Cousins to Jalen Nailor with New York leading 35-30 at the time. The Jets were penalized in critical moments, and Fitzpatrick said they didn’t stop the Raiders’ tight end Brock Bowers, who finished with seven catches for 92 yards and two TDs.
