Air Canada Cancels This 9-Hour Transatlantic Long-Haul Route [Map]
xCruzo Brief
Air Canada has removed its Montreal–Algiers long-haul service, ending the carrier’s only remaining route from Canada to Africa. The Francophone link between Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) and Houari Boumediene International (ALG) is fully cancelled, with future flights taken off the schedule. OAG Traffic Analyzer data shows that about 198,000 round-trip passengers traveled on the YUL–ALG market between July 2025 and June 2026. Average base fares were roughly US$284 each way (CAD$390), making it a low-yield market. Flights last existed in a 2025 summer operation using a 285-seat A330-300, originally planned to return in 2026 and then June 2027.
