Air India cuts fuel surcharge on select international routes as global jet fuel prices ease: Sources reports that Air India has reduced fuel surcharges on selected international routes, citing easing global jet fuel costs. The airline lowered the additional charge per passenger to USD 125 for flights to Europe from USD 205 in April. For North America and Australia, the surcharge drops to USD 200 from USD 280. Sources say no other Indian airline has announced similar reductions so far. The move comes after a sharp rise in global average jet fuel, which increased to USD 195.19 per barrel for the week ending March 27, 2026, nearly doubling from USD 99.40 per barrel at the end of February. The reduction is being closely watched as energy prices fluctuate.
