Airbus Sees Aviation Services Market Doubling by 2045

Airbus says the global civil aviation services market is set to more than double by 2045, reaching US$422 billion, up from US$209 billion in 2026. The forecast, unveiled on 14 October in Toulouse as part of Airbus’s 2026-2045 Global Services Forecast, projects average annual growth of 3.8% through 2045. It expects passenger aircraft seating at least 100 seats to rise from 23,310 in 2025 to 45,550 by 2045, requiring 42,060 new aircraft deliveries. Airbus also projects demand for passenger traffic to double to 10 billion passengers. Workforce needs over two decades include 730,000 technicians, 660,000 pilots and 1.05 million cabin crew. The largest segment remains third-party maintenance, with digital and connectivity the fastest-growing.
