Airline introduces key change for over-50s cabin crew

easyJet has launched a major recruitment drive aimed at people aged over 50 for cabin crew roles. The airline, which operates flights from Birmingham and competes with carriers including Ryanair, TUI and Jet2, is encouraging applications from air hosts and hostesses with applications planned to open from September. Employment minister Andrew Western praised the initiative, saying the experience of older workers can strengthen the workforce. easyJet says cabin crew roles are fast-paced and roster-based, with shifts that can include early starts, late finishes and weekends. It also notes cabin staff numbers over 50 have more than doubled since 2022.
