Akasa Air reports potential flight delays due to heavy rain in Mumbai, Pune, Goa
Heavy rainfall has disrupted air travel across Mumbai, Pune and Goa, prompting Akasa Air to warn that flights on parts of its network may be delayed. In a July 6 update, the airline acknowledged the inconvenience and asked passengers to exercise patience while teams prepared to assist travelers. It urged customers to check official flight status before heading to the airport, citing the weather as beyond its control. Akasa Air also marked a fleet milestone earlier on Saturday by taking delivery of its 40th aircraft. The Boeing 737 MAX 8-200, registration VT-YBQ, arrived at Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru on July 3, 2026, via a delivery route starting in Seattle, transiting through Reykjavik and ending from Cairo. The carrier said this was its ninth aircraft induction in calendar year 2026. Akasa Air has firm orders for 226 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, with 186 more scheduled over the next six years.
