Akasa Air to shift Mumbai-Jeddah flights to Navi Mumbai airport from December
Akasa Air will move its Mumbai–Jeddah flights to Navi Mumbai International Airport starting December 2026, as Mumbai prepares to redevelop Terminal 1 at its main airport. The airline and Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL), operator of both airports, announced a phased transition on Monday. Bookings for the new flights opened October 26 via Akasa Air’s website, mobile app and online travel platforms. The shift builds on Akasa Air’s existing operations at Navi Mumbai and is expected to strengthen international connectivity. Akasa Air currently flies to 31 domestic and seven international cities. The plan follows similar announcements from IndiGo and Air India Group, aiming to support a dual-airport setup for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The initial phase is expected to transfer around 5 million passengers to Navi Mumbai, including about 3 million from a 60% share, helping free capacity for the Terminal 1 redevelopment at CSMIA, which handles about 55 million passengers annually.
