Anyone buy that?' MS NOW suspects Trump's bizarre Qatari jet answer was a 'cover story'
MS NOW challenged President Donald Trump’s sudden switch from a Qatar-gifted jet to flying back on the older Air Force One, calling the explanation a possible “cover story.” After flying the roughly $400 million Qatar-supplied plane to the NATO summit in Turkey, Trump said he would instead return on the previous aircraft. He previously promoted the jet’s value for weeks, including claims on Truth Social that it would be sent to an England base so U.S. troops could tour it. During the exchange, the MS NOW panel pressed for reasons, including potential security concerns tied to Iran. Former CIA director Leon Panetta said a maintenance issue for a new aircraft made little sense. New York Times correspondent Peter Baker noted possible gaps in missile and electromagnetic-pulse protections versus standard Air Force One.
