Aura Wireless Apogee Converge Powers Private 5G Testbed at Paso Robles Municipal Airport
Aura Wireless has deployed its Apogee Converge, a converged Wi‑Fi plus CBRS antenna, as a Private 5G testbed at Paso Robles Municipal Airport in collaboration with Cal Poly’s Noyce Advanced Wireless Lab and integrator Heddian. The 1,300-acre facility hosts Cal Fire’s Paso Robles Air Attack Base, CHP Coastal Air Operations, and about 50,000 private aircraft movements per year, and is pursuing FAA spaceport licensing with Cal Poly as part of the Paso Robles Space Innovation and Technology Park. The system delivers full ramp coverage from a single node using Aura’s Asymmetric Gain technology and four programmable sectors, enabling reliable connectivity for active flight lines and real-time data needs on the ramp, firefighting operations, and future spaceport infrastructure.
