Authorities said Houthi-claimed attacks on Riyadh airport killed three Saudi citizens, as airlines suspend at least 124 flights | Fortune
Attacks claimed by Yemen’s Houthis targeting Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport and a Saudia aircraft killed three Saudi citizens, the kingdom’s civil aviation authority said Friday. An airline pilot was among the dead, while several people “of different nationalities” were wounded. The Thursday strikes were the deadliest in Saudi Arabia since the kingdom and allied forces launched a major military offensive in Yemen last weekend against Iran-backed Houthi rebels. Flight disruption escalated quickly: by Friday afternoon, at least 124 flights to and from Riyadh had been canceled, following hundreds more cut the day before. Air India paused service through Saturday, Lufthansa through Oct. 16, and Pakistan International Airlines also suspended flights.
