BAE Systems wins deal to protect South Korea's F-15K jets
BAE Systems wins deal to protect South Korea's F-15K jets says the company will supply electronic warfare upgrades for all 59 F-15K Slam Eagle fighters in South Korea’s fleet. The contract from Boeing covers the AN/ALQ-250 Eagle Passive Active Warning Survivability System (EPAWSS), an all-digital package designed to provide pilots with 360-degree awareness of radar and missile threats, including automatic countermeasures such as chaff and flares. The modernization is part of a roughly $3.1 billion program running through 2037, with the first modernized F-15K+ jets expected by late 2028. In addition to EPAWSS, the upgrade package includes 96 Advanced Display Core Processor II mission computers, 70 AN/APG-82(v)1 active electronically scanned array radars, and 70 AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems. South Korea’s Defense Acquisition Program Administration approved the effort in December 2025, while Boeing received a separate $2.8 billion contract in January 2026 to oversee the broader upgrade.
