Bangladesh’s aviation fuel cost is set to rise again. The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) increased jet fuel prices for domestic flights by Tk 17.06 to Tk 182.71 per litre for October, effective at midnight Wednesday. That follows a third consecutive month of increases, taking the domestic aviation fuel price up 39.5% from Tk 130.99 in July to Tk 165.65 in September and now nearly 40% over the three-month stretch. The October rate remains below this year’s peak of Tk 227.08 on Apr 7. BERC said it was based on average Platts international rates from Sept 5 to Oct 4, plus the exchange rate and updated transport costs.
