Biman Bangladesh Airlines passengers stuck inside aircraft for 8 hours without air conditioning

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight from Toronto to Dhaka was stuck on the ground in Rome for a technical fault, leaving 259 passengers inside the aircraft for eight hours without air conditioning. The trip departed Toronto Pearson International Airport at 5:18 p.m. on Aug. 6 and, after about eight hours in the air, made an emergency landing at Rome’s Fiumicino International Airport at 7:20 a.m. the following day following another technical problem, according to Bangladesh’s Dhaka Tribune. Passengers told Daily Star that they remained onboard for roughly eight hours without working air conditioning and that several people felt unwell. After attempts to fix the issue, the flight was cancelled and passengers were moved to the terminal. Biman sent engineers from Bangladesh to Rome with spare parts and equipment.
