Blue Angels Fly Maryland Waterman, Miss Maryland Ahead Of Pax River Air Show

The Blue Angels treated two Maryland community figures to a flight ahead of the Pax River Air Show. On June 16, 2026, Maria Derisavi, Miss Maryland, and Luke McFadden, a Chesapeake Bay waterman, rode in a Blue Angels F/A-18. The flights originated from the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School at Patuxent River. Derisavi leads the Seize Your Opportunities program to empower local youth. McFadden, a Chesapeake Bay waterman, has millions of followers for crabber and conservation content. Officials say both riders illustrate Southern Maryland's link to the Bay and to naval aviation.
