Boeing Admits It Will Miss 500-Jet 737 MAX Delivery Target As It Can't Build Enough Wings

Boeing says it will miss its target to deliver around 500 737 MAX jets in 2026 because wing production remains constrained at its Renton, Washington, factory. During an earnings call and in remarks to CNBC, CEO Kelly Ortberg said Boeing is still struggling to stabilize output at 47 aircraft per month, a rate not expected to be fully stable until early 2027. Boeing delivered 367 737s in the first nine months of 2026 and would need 133 more in the fourth quarter to hit the goal. An increase to 52 per month has also been pushed into the second half of 2027.
