Boeing Caps Blockbuster Week with First Full Rate Grey Wolf Order
xCruzo Brief
Boeing capped a busy military-aircraft week with its first full-rate Grey Wolf order, after receiving four additional MH-139A helicopters from the U.S. Air Force. The roughly $85 million contract, announced Thursday and awarded Sept. 25, is the first under full rate production and includes sustainment work. Boeing expects delivery of the four aircraft in 2028 or 2029. The deal brings the total Grey Wolf helicopters under contract to 42, with 27 already delivered; six earlier units were test helicopters. The Grey Wolf reached initial operational capability on Aug. 10, clearing first crews for real-world missions and enabling the aircraft to take over intercontinental ballistic missile security duties from the aging UH-1N Huey.
