Boeing, others win $363 million in Navy contracts for aircraft, missile-launching system, roofing

The U.S. Navy awarded $363 million in contracts for aircraft, a missile-launching system and maintenance work. Boeing Co., Seattle, Washington, received the largest share—$213 million—to reconfigure four military aircraft for an undisclosed foreign customer. The work will be 91% performed in Seattle, with the remainder in Huntington Beach, California. Naval Surface Warfare Center Port Hueneme Division, Port Hueneme, California, selected DRS Laurel Technologies Partnership, Largo, Florida, to manufacture, assemble, test and deliver a missile-launching system and associated kits for warships, worth $68 million. Compass Systems Inc., Johnstown, Pennsylvania, won a $50 million award to deploy a modernized aircraft maintenance system. Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Melbourne, Florida, received $21 million for upgrades aimed at improving resistance to communications jamming, while Federal Contracting Protocol in Coatesville, Pennsylvania, secured an $11 million roof maintenance and repair contract at Philadelphia Naval Business Center.
