Boeing's Hidden Update: 777X Gets Massive Range Increase
Boeing’s forthcoming 777X has received a “hidden” update to its publicly listed range figures, with both the 777-8 and 777-9 now advertised at more than 700 nautical miles above earlier totals. The change was identified via Boeing’s website and confirmed through archives, with Simple Flying noting that as recently as June 17, 2026 the 777-8 and 777-9 were listed at 8,745 and 7,285 NM, respectively. The updated figures shown include up to 9,500 NM for the 777-8 and up to 8,000 NM for the 777-9, representing increases of 755 NM (8.6%) and 715 NM (9.8%). Seating capacity figures also shifted to 350–425 for the 777-8 and 375–450 for the 777-9. Simple Flying reached out to Boeing for clarification. The 777X also retains a 64.8-meter wingspan, expanding to 71.8 meters with folding wingtips extended in flight.
