A broken engine fan blade on a Ryanair flight shattered a passenger window shortly after takeoff in Greece last month, U.S. investigators said Thursday. The National Transportation Safety Board reported that parts flew off the engine, damaging the fuselage in multiple areas. In the most serious consequence, a man’s head was sucked into the opening created by the shattered window before other passengers pulled him back to safety. The NTSB said the engine components also struck other parts of the aircraft’s structure. The report was released as part of the ongoing investigation.
