Brother of Ravens' Calais Campbell charged with murder after mother found dead
The brother of Baltimore Ravens defensive lineman Calais Campbell, Ciarre Campbell, was charged with murder after police found his mother dead during a welfare check in Atlanta, Georgia. Ciarre Campbell, 41, was arrested Tuesday and charged with murder, aggravated assault, and possession of a knife, according to the Atlanta Police Department. Officers responded Monday after a family member requested a welfare check; they found Nateal Campbell, 71, dead at the home. Police records show prior calls to the address, including incidents since September such as a fight in progress, a suspicious person report, and an earlier welfare check, plus a possible arson investigation in April. He was booked into the Fulton County Jail without bond after waiving an initial court hearing. The family and the Ravens issued statements requesting privacy and condolences.
