Buccaneers to test Week 1 streak vs. rebuilt Bengals defense
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday with both teams opening seasons featuring revamped defenses. Cincinnati enters after completing its first perfect preseason since 2006, beating the Lions, Bears and Eagles, while Tampa Bay went 2-1, winning against the New York Jets and Kansas City before losing to Jacksonville. The Bengals are expected to have Ja’Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Dax Hill and Shemar Stewart available after injury concerns. Tampa Bay is likely to have Emeka Egbuka back after he practiced fully Wednesday following a toe injury. Cincinnati’s offseason upgrades emphasized defense, adding Dexter Lawrence II, Bryan Cook, Jonathan Allen and Boye Mafe, plus rookies Cashius Howell and Tacario Davis.
