Calais Campbell's brother charged in mother's murder
Ciarre Campbell, the older brother of NFL defensive lineman Calais Campbell, has been charged in the killing of his mother, Nateal Campbell, Atlanta police records show. The Fulton County case says the 71-year-old woman’s body was found at her home in Atlanta’s Buckhead neighborhood, and that her throat was cut. Ciarre Campbell, 41, faces murder and aggravated assault charges, according to the records, while his defense attorney Jay Abt said he is innocent and is prepared to contest the case in court. Calais Campbell, 39, is a six-time Pro Bowl selection and the 2019 Walter Payton Man of the Year, drafted in 2008 by the Arizona Cardinals. He signed a one-year, $5.5 million contract in April to play his 19th NFL season in 2026 with the Baltimore Ravens.
