Cancels new route from UK to popular Spanish Island
Jet2 has cancelled its new Manchester to La Palma route in the Canary Islands just six months after launching, citing customer demand. The first flight departed on 3 April, and the airline sold two weekly services on Mondays and Fridays for the four-and-a-half-hour journey. Jet2 had planned additional low-cost Friday flights from London Stansted starting 6 November. In a statement to The Independent, the airline said it made a “difficult decision” to withdraw all flights and holidays to La Palma, and contacted affected customers with options including rebooking another holiday or receiving a full refund. The last Manchester–La Palma flight is expected to depart on 30 October, leaving Tui as the only airline running seasonal direct services between the airports.
