Investigators have released preliminary flight data suggesting an Amazon cargo jet tried to abort an unstable landing at Miami International Airport before overrunning the runway and crashing into a van, killing five people. The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board said it will interview the pilot and co-pilot on Wednesday to determine why the aircraft overran during Sunday’s landing. NTSB Chairwoman Jennifer Homendy said investigators are reviewing flight data and cockpit recordings to understand the seconds before the impact, including whether a brief go-around was attempted and then abandoned. She said thrust reversers were never used to help stop the plane. The five victims were inside a crew shuttle van; five others were injured, and the pilot and co-pilot were released from hospital.
