Charlo to host one of Snowbirds' last shows
The Snowbirds are set to host one of their last shows in Restigouche as Canada prepares for the retirement of the CT-114 Tutor fleet. National Defence is retiring the CT-114 Tutor jets and replacing them with the CT-157 Siskin II, a transition that is expected to delay Snowbirds performances in Canada until at least 2030. Organizers of Air Show Restigouche said they began planning after learning the retirement was coming. The show is expected to be one of the last chances for residents of northern New Brunswick, Gaspésie, and the broader Atlantic region to see the red-and-white Tutors in formation, with spokesperson Justin d’Entremont saying hosting the Snowbirds is an honour. The group’s last Restigouche appearance was in May 2020. The summer Canadian schedule includes Sept. 18, followed by a final Oct. 18 show in Sacramento.
