Cleaning crew killed in Miami cargo jet crash was wrapping up shift at hard, demanding job

Five members of a crew cleaning planes were killed when an Amazon cargo jet crashed into their van at Miami International Airport on Sunday, lawyers said Wednesday. The workers were completing an eight-hour shift as the Boeing 767-300 reportedly appeared to be reconsidering a landing and then ran out of runway. Two other workers survived but were hospitalized for days afterward. Yoel Rodriguez Naranjo, 53, had come to the U.S. from Cuba in 2011 and had worked multiple jobs for his family for 14 years, according to attorney Jorge Garcia. Naranjo worked a 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. shift for Professional Ocean Service Corp. A wrongful-death lawsuit was filed against Amazon, 21 Air, and the pilots.
