Delta brings Boeing 717 service to Columbus - Now Georgia

Delta Air Lines will bring its Boeing 717 to Columbus Airport in Georgia, with the first flight scheduled to arrive Friday, June 12. The move marks a milestone for Columbus Airport and the Chattahoochee Valley, reflecting rising demand for air travel in the region. The 110-seat 717 will operate on select Friday and Saturday midday services to Atlanta during a summer trial, replacing the smaller CRJ-900 on this market and increasing capacity by more than 40%. Airport Director Amber Clark framed the launch as a sign that local travelers support their hometown airport. The service expands Delta's network reach and is expected to boost both business and leisure travel, with two daily midday flights during the trial and strong local support from businesses, military travelers, and residents.
