Donald Trump announces Air Force One tour at Suffolk airbase
Donald Trump announces Air Force One tour at Suffolk airbase highlights a plan by the U.S. president to bring his newly transformed Air Force One to RAF Mildenhall for an aircraft tour. Trump said on social media that he will send the “brand new, and truly spectacular” presidential aircraft to the UK to allow airmen and airwomen at the base to tour it. He also described taking the former Air Force One from Turkey to Mildenhall as a short trip worth making “for old time’s sake.” The aircraft currently being highlighted is a former Qatari-owned jumbo jet that Trump’s administration is using as a temporary “bridge” presidential plane until new Boeing aircraft arrive. The schedule for the new Boeing planes was stated as 2028. The administration accepted a luxury Boeing 747 jet from Qatar last year for use as the presidential aircraft, despite questions reported about ethics and legality. Trump’s comments included mention of a previous stop at RAF Mildenhall after a trip to Egypt.
