DoorDash Launches New Drone Delivery Division to Take Flight - Internewscast Journal
DoorDash is moving toward drone-powered food delivery through a new initiative called DoorDash Air, aimed at expanding beyond what it says current local-delivery methods can cover. The company says it has received clearance from the Federal Aviation Administration, positioning it for a near-term start of drone deliveries. In its announcement, DoorDash described the drones as purpose-built for gaps in local commerce, complementing short- and long-range designs from partners. DoorDash also claims its aircraft is “American-designed and built,” with most components manufactured in the United States—an assertion it highlights because many drones in the industry are made in China. The firm did not specify which markets will launch first, saying details will come in the following months.
