EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI to enforce strict boarding pass rule change

EasyJet, Ryanair, Jet2 and TUI are moving toward stricter enforcement of boarding-pass requirements, as airlines increasingly prioritize app-based access over paper documents in summer travel. The change means passengers may be less likely to have printed documents accepted on certain routes. EasyJet has shifted to a fully digital boarding model: once check-in is completed, boarding passes are generated through its mobile application and used at security and boarding gates, though the airline accepts both digital and printed passes across its network; online check-in opens 28 days before departure. TUI Airways also accepts both formats and opens online check-in 48 hours before departure, but printed copies must be on clean A4 paper. A digital version can be stored offline and is compatible with smartwatch integration. Wizz Air uses mobile passes widely, with controlled check-in windows.
