Ex-Activision Boss Bobby Kotick Joins David Ellison's Skydance
Bobby Kotick, the former CEO of Activision Blizzard, has joined the board of the newly formed Skydance Corp., which now controls both Paramount and Warner Bros. Kotick’s appointment is not described as a direct management role over either company’s gaming divisions, but the connection is tied to his decades-long experience in games. Skydance’s press release cites Kotick’s track record leading a global entertainment company through “three decades” of growth and highlights his experience building franchises and connecting with fans. Kotick left Activision Blizzard at the end of 2023 after its $70 billion sale to Microsoft. Skydance also confirmed that its Paramount Games Studio will merge with Warner Bros. Games, combining the units. The board structure may shape how investors view the new, leveraged media group.
