Ex-Jethro Tull Keyboardist + Arranger Dee Palmer Dies at 88, Ian Anderson Shares Tribute

The passing of Dee Palmer marks the end of a pivotal era in Jethro Tull's progressive rock lineage. Palmer served as keyboardist and arranger through the 1970s and died at age 88 at home in Shropshire, surrounded by family. Ian Anderson announced Palmer's death on June 13 via the band's official channels, highlighting his long collaboration. Palmer contributed brass and string arrangements on Move On Alone and helped craft the string parts on A Christmas Song, Aqualung, WarChild, Minstrel in the Gallery and Too Old to Rock and Roll. He transitioned to Dee in 2004 after surgery following his wife's death and left behind four children.
