Federal investigators search for cause of Amazon cargo jet crash that killed five

Federal investigators began looking for what caused an Amazon cargo jet to overrun a runway at Miami International Airport on Sunday afternoon, killing five people and injuring five others. The NTSB said chairwoman Jennifer Homendy would hold a news conference later Monday, while Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said the agency would “assess the scene” after an Amazon cargo plane overran the runway. Video showed the Boeing 767—operated by contractor 21 Air—touching down far along the runway, wobbling, and apparently landing too fast and too far to stop in time. Authorities said the plane hit multiple vehicles, trapping people inside cars; crews also extricated a person trapped under a vehicle.
