Fighter jets intercept plane over South Carolina during Trump rally - AOL
xCruzo Brief
Fighter jets intercepted a general aviation plane that entered restricted airspace near Clemson, South Carolina, during a Wednesday rally where President Trump spoke in support of Darline Graham’s Senate campaign. Military officials said F-16s were scrambled just after 5:30 p.m. ET to intercept the aircraft that violated a temporary flight restriction in the area, according to NORAD. The plane was monitored by jets until it landed safely at a nearby airfield. NORAD added that pilots who violate restrictions may face federal enforcement action after landing. The incident follows other recent scrambles around Trump rallies, including in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Chicago, as the FAA issues NOTAMs for temporary restrictions.
