Find your earplugs: When and where the Blue Angels will rattle the Bay Area loudest this week
xCruzo Brief
The U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels will headline Fleet Week in the Bay Area this week, with air-show operations running Friday, Oct. 9 through Sunday, Oct. 11. Practice flights start Wednesday, Oct. 7, and the event includes other military aircraft plus a performance by a United Airlines Boeing 777. Noise will be most intense in Marin County near the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and the East Bay. The show area runs between the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz, with jets flying low at the Marina Green and Crissy Field where sound can top 100 decibels. On the East Bay side, takeoffs from Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport (OAK) will create a flight-path roar over East Oakland, Alameda and Bay Farm Island. The main show runs 3–4 p.m.
