Flavio Bolsonaro flees Brazil through Argentina and lands in Miami
Defeated Brazilian presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro fled Brazil to Argentina and then Ecuador with his wife and two daughters, according to Argentina’s migration authority. The 45-year-old senator and family were granted U.S. visas the day before by the Trump administration, and later reports said they landed in Miami on Wednesday afternoon. Argentina said they entered through the Tancredo Neves International Bridge linking Brazil’s north-eastern province of Misiones, at 10:50 p.m. local time. Shortly after clearing immigration, the four boarded a private charter operated by Baires Fly SA, with a filed plan for Guayaquil, Ecuador. Flight tracking later showed a matching aircraft reaching Guayaquil around 4 a.m., then departing for Opa Locka near Miami. The move is expected to strain relations among Brazil’s President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, who has been re-elected, and Argentina’s president Javier Milei.
