Flight makes mid-air u-turn after 'technical issue' at 37,000ft

A Jet2 Boeing 737-800 (flight LS833) that was scheduled to fly from Manchester to Nice made a mid-air U-turn after a reported “technical issue” while cruising at 37,000ft on Monday, August 3. The aircraft initially tracked its expected route across England toward France, but as it neared the Channel, pilots redirected it back to Manchester. The return flight landed safely at Manchester Airport shortly afterwards, nearly three hours after departure. Airlive.net said no injuries were reported and described the decision as an unexpected technical glitch. Passengers later continued to France aboard a replacement aircraft, reaching Nice at 7:38pm.
