Flight makes U-turn after mid-air 'technical issue'

A Jet2 flight from Manchester to the French Riviera was forced to divert back after a technical issue occurred at 37,000ft. Flight LS833, operated by a Boeing 737-800, departed Manchester Airport at about 1:23pm on August 3. The aircraft initially followed its expected route across England toward France, but as it neared the Channel, pilots executed a U-turn and headed back to Manchester. The diverted flight landed safely shortly afterward, according to Airlive.net with no injuries reported and no incidents during landing. The site said the return was driven by an “unexpected technical glitch.” Passengers later continued on a replacement aircraft, arriving in Nice at 7:38pm.
