Florida judge denies request to require ex-Lion Terrion Arnold to wear GPS tether
Florida judge denies request to require ex-Lion Terrion Arnold to wear a GPS tether underscores the court’s reluctance to tighten restrictions as the criminal case progresses. During a Zoom hearing in Hillsborough Circuit Court on Friday, prosecutors sought to amend Terrion Arnold’s previously set bond after he was released by the Detroit Lions in late June. Assistant State’s Attorney Kevin Riley argued Arnold posed danger to the community and the three alleged victims, asking for a GPS monitor. Arnold’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, pushed to revisit the tether request in 45 days, and agent Nicole Lynn testified that NFL interest now includes the Indianapolis Colts, New York Jets, Seattle Seahawks and Houston Texans. Judge Jeffrey Rich denied the state’s request, saying the change did not rise to the level needed to modify bond. The case stems from a February armed robbery and kidnapping plot.
