FTAI Extends United Airlines Maintenance Partnership With Multi-Year Engine Deal - United Airlines Holdin
FTAI Aviation (NASDAQ:FTAI) expanded its multi-year engine exchange agreement with United Airlines Holdings (NASDAQ:UAL) to cover designated CFM56-7B engines, adding to the program’s ability to support United before scheduled removals. Under the arrangement, United returns an unserviceable engine in exchange for a serviceable one, aiming to reduce downtime and maintenance costs while increasing engines in FTAI’s MRO inventory. The program began in 2026 and is expected to grow as more engines reach removal intervals. Separately, in September FTAI also secured a five-year guaranteed capacity partnership with Indonesia’s GMF covering CFM56-5B and CFM56-7B engines and GTCP131-9 APUs, with plans to expand into modules, components, and eventually CFM LEAP engines.
