Fujifilm Australia launches lightweight XF400mm lens

Fujifilm Australia has launched the FUJINON XF400mmF4.5 R LM OIS WR, a new super-telephoto prime for its X Series APS-C mirrorless cameras. The 400mm lens has a maximum aperture of f/4.5 and is rated by Fujifilm as equivalent to 609mm on a 35mm frame. It weighs about 1,245g, with Fujifilm positioning the lighter mass as an advantage for photographers who shoot handheld for long periods or travel with long lenses. Optical design uses 21 elements in 14 groups, including two Super ED and four ED elements. Image stabilisation is rated up to 5.5 stops, and the lens is weather-sealed for use down to -10C.
