Greek tourism minister hails Jet2 as company hosts Athens summit
Greek tourism officials and Jet2 executives met in Athens for a summit hosted by the UK operator, aiming to deepen partnerships with the Greek tourism industry. The event, called A Partnership for Growth, brought together Greece’s tourism minister Olga Kefalogianni, governors, and senior airport and hotel leaders for presentations, meetings and knowledge-sharing. Jet2 said it was the first UK tour operator to host an event of this scale in Greece, with chief Steve Heapy joining senior figures to engage political and industry decision-makers. The airline plans its biggest Greek programme this summer, with 134 routes on sale between Greece and the UK, making Greece its second-largest destination. Jet2 also reported a 37% capacity increase since 2023. On June 25, it announced three new routes for summer 2027 from Luton to Chania, Halkidiki and Kefalonia.
