Hour Ga. manhunt ends after bloodhound K-9 locates brute accused of shooting mother of his child
A Georgia manhunt ended Tuesday after a bloodhound K-9 helped deputies locate a “dangerous” suspect accused of shooting the mother of his child. Butts County Sheriff’s Office identified the man as Darian Berry Sr., 46, a convicted felon. The incident began Tuesday morning in Flovilla, about 50 miles south of Atlanta, after deputies responded to reports of a domestic dispute involving Berry. Officials said Berry allegedly attempted to confine or restrict the victim, and was also charged with arson and stalking. As deputies arrived, Berry fled on foot and was believed to be armed with a handgun, prompting a BOLO alert and a major search. He was taken into custody by Tuesday evening. The K-9 unit from the Georgia Department of Corrections played a key role. Berry faces multiple charges including aggravated assault, family violence and false imprisonment.
