Malone Lam, 22, of Singapore, pleaded guilty in Washington to leading a crypto theft and laundering enterprise that prosecutors say stole and laundered more than $245 million. The racketeering conspiracy involved targeting Bitcoin owners through social engineering and, in some cases, home break-ins to obtain information needed to drain wallets. Prosecutors said the operation ran at least from October 2023 through May 2025, with participants in California, Connecticut, New York and Florida plus overseas. Lam used aliases including “Anne Hathaway,” “$$$” and “King Greavy.” An earlier case involved the theft of over 4,100 Bitcoin from a Washington, D.C., victim on Aug. 18, 2024.
