Iran, UAE to resume Tehran-Dubai flights from July 1
Iran and the UAE have agreed to resume flights on the Tehran–Dubai route from July 1, following aviation clearances issued by both countries. Majid Akhavan, a spokesman for the Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation, said the relevant permits were issued by the Iranian Civil Aviation Organisation and the UAE Civil Aviation Organisation to restart services on July 1. The reopening comes after Iranian authorities closed western airspace in early June amid escalating tensions with Israel. Tehran had decided on Tuesday to restore air travel in the western part of the country. The decision is also linked to a June 18 memorandum signed remotely by Iran and the United States. That document outlines steps toward ending the February 28 conflict, including timelines for lifting a U.S. naval blockade, shipping restoration in the Strait of Hormuz, and separate negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program.
